SMS Messaging & Opt-In
The AON Initiative, Inc. (TAONI) uses text messaging to send program updates, session reminders, chat-room notifications, and community announcements to people who ask to receive them.
How to opt in
Consent is always express and never purchased or shared. You can opt in to TAONI text messages in any of these ways:
- Provide your mobile number and check the SMS consent box on our TAONI Connect sign-up form.
- Provide your mobile number and consent on a program enrollment form found on any program page.
- Complete a paper consent, volunteer, or onboarding form at an in-person TAONI event or partner site.
- Text START to our TAONI messaging number.
Parents or guardians provide consent on behalf of participants under 18.
Program details
- Program name: The AON Initiative (TAONI) program & community notifications.
- Message types: program updates, schedule and session reminders, chat-room notifications, event and volunteer announcements.
- Message frequency: varies based on program activity; typically a few messages per month.
- Cost: message and data rates may apply. TAONI does not charge for text messages.
- Carriers: supported on major U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
HELP and STOP
Reply HELP at any time for assistance, or email connect@taoni.org. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe immediately; you will receive one confirmation message and no further texts. You can also leave a chat room quietly from your TAONI Connect settings. You can also manage or cancel your consent on the SMS preferences page.
Privacy of mobile data
Your mobile information and SMS opt-in data will not be shared, sold, or transferred to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Sharing is limited to subcontracted messaging providers strictly to deliver the messages you requested. Full details are in our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
